Seattle Boat Show Announces 2016 Show Dates

SEATTLE –May 2015 – The Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA)
is pleased to announce the dates for the 2016 Seattle Boat Show at
CenturyLink Field Event Center and South Lake Union. The 69th annual
Seattle Boat Show will begin on Friday, Jan. 29 and end on Saturday, Feb. 6.
This is the third consecutive year that the show will continue in a 9-day format.

“The Seattle Boat Show has experienced an increase in large boat displays.
In order to preserve this favorite attraction in our increasingly congested city
center, more time is needed to safely move boats out of the building,”
said George Harris, NMTA president. “Combine this with a football crazy city
and closing on the second Sunday just makes more sense. It also allows
exhibitors and attendees to plan with certainly for a high energy Saturday
 night finale.”

Applications for new exhibitors will be available in late June. New exhibitors
interested in exhibiting should contact Seattle Boat Show Director
Katie McPhail.  She can be reached at katiemc@nmta.net or 206-954-2574.

The Seattle Boat Show is the largest boat show on the West Coast. The nine-day show features over 1,000 boats and yachts in two locations; more than three acres of marine accessories, electronics and boating gear; 450 exhibitors; 225 boating and fishing seminars; and entertainment. The show is the not-to-be-missed event on the calendar for boaters in the Pacific Northwest, many of whom have been faithfully attending for decades. Attendees traveled from at least 31 states and 6 Canadian provinces and as far away as Dubai and Sao Paulo, Brazil for the 2014 show.

About the NMTA:

The NMTA is the nation’s oldest and largest regional marine association, representing more than 700 companies – from stand up paddle board dealers to super yacht builders and everything in between. Members include boat dealers, boat brokers, marinas, boatyards, manufacturers, retailers and suppliers of boating accessories and services.

The association produces the Seattle Boat Show, the West Coast’s largest boat show and the Northwest Paddling Festival, the region’s largest and most popular paddle sports consumer event. While the NMTA is best known for the Seattle Boat Show, it is also an indispensable voice for its members in Olympia—advocating on their behalf for boating, recreational fishing, tourism and workforce issues. It also has created three non-profits: Clean Boating Foundation, Fish Northwest and the NMTA Health Trust.
